Martinson, Timothy E.

Senior Extension Associate
My program responsibility is to provide extension and applied research in viticulture to support the continued growth and profitability of the New York Wine and Grape Industry. To accomplish this task, I work closely with Faculty, Regional Extension Educators, and industry groups in Enology and Viticulture to provide growers and wineries with educational programs, workshops, newsletters, and applied on-farm research that supports profitable production of grapes, grape products and wine.

outreach focus

My program provides support and coordination for the Lake Erie, Finger Lakes, Long Island, and Hudson Valley Cooperative Extension viticulture programs, and also works with county extension associations in non-traditional areas such as the Lake Ontario Plain and Northern NY. My goal is to develop and support development of resources (factsheets, statewide newsletters, , extension manuals, and web information) that enhance extension programs statewide and regionally. My program coordinates the statewide Sustainable Viticulture program, the weekly pre-harvest newsletter "Veraison to Harvest", and a newsletter supplement entitled Viticulture and Enology Extension Update, to inform growers and vintners statewide about news of Cornell`s viticulture and enology programs.,My program provides support and coordination for the Lake Erie, Finger Lakes, Long Island, and Hudson Valley Cooperative Extension viticulture programs, and also works with county extension associations in non-traditional areas such as the Lake Ontario Plain and Northern NY.
