Curtis, Richard Thomas
Senior Lecturer
Rich Curtis teaches the challenging AEM core "Finance" course. He also teaches in and is Director of the AEM Certificate in Business Management Program, an intensive 7 1/2–week summer business immersion designed for non-business majors. Rich received the 2001 Professor of Merit Award, voted on by graduating seniors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell. He was also the recipient of the 2003 and 2007 Panhellenic and Interfraternity CALS Faculty Appreciation Award and the 2005 CALS Innovative Teacher Award. Based on the results of a BusinessWeek survey of juniors and seniors in Cornell`s Undergraduate Business Program, Rich was honored in 2006 as Cornell`s Favorite Undergraduate Business Professor.

My focus in CALS has been teaching finance at the introductory level, although some of the material goes well beyond "introductory". Presentations of finance theory are complemented with applications to corporate, investment, and personal financial decisions.
